A hot summer afternoon may seem like the perfect moment for a refreshingly cool cocktail. But, while cocktails are marketed to help you beat the summer heat, you might want to reach for something else.
If you don’t know it by now, alcohol dehydrates you—like seriously dehydrates you. And hot temperatures in summer also put you at a higher risk for dehydration. When you combine these two factors, you may even experience heat sickness. With this in mind, consider sticking to (or alternating) mocktails to cool down!
Here are some of my favorite non alc-bevs paired with my favorite summer activities:
