Vinta is a special collaboration between Proxies and award-winning sommelier Miguel de Leon. Miguel—an alum of Momofuku and Chez Panisse, and sommelier at Pinch Chinese—has earned numerous honors for his thoughtful curatorial approach and advocacy work, including Michelin Guide Sommelier of the Year and a James Beard Award. Vinta is a memory of Miguel’s Filipino childhood, marrying tropical fruit with citrus, tea and pandan. Riesling offers acidity, while a duo of black teas—Nepal and Jasmine—lend grippy tannins and a balancing bitter finish. Orange in color, texture, and style, Vinta draws inspiration from the golden glow, intense aromatics and tannic structure of skin contact wines. Our Reserve Red is an elegant and savory style red wine. It is dry with notes of boysenberry, plum, cassis, and warm baking spices. On the palate, supple tannins lead to a long finish. The genesis for the inaugural release of our Reserve Red was our discovery of a hidden gem: Petite Sirah that was almost forgotten in the cellar with beautifully rich berry flavors and developed oak aromas from aging in French and American barrels for several years. We blended it with young Cabernet Sauvignon to bring freshness, structure and tannin to the final wine.
Our 2021 Chenin Blanc has notes of honeydew melon, pear and Meyer lemon. Beautifully textured on the palate with crisp acidity. Nestled in the Sacramento River Delta, Clarksburg is well known for producing vibrant Chenin Blanc, a late ripening grape and this wine hails from a single vineyard there. The cooling breezes help to maintain fresh acidity, and warm sunny days allow for even ripening. We were so impressed by this particular lot that we held it back to give it extended aging it on its lees for 12 months to develop a creamy texture and nuanced characteristics.

The taste is fruity, slightly sweet and pleasantly bitter with long aftertaste because of the wormwood-like herbs and berries that complement this drink.
