Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Dry Atlas LLC collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers dryatlas.com and our newsletter and paid products.

1. What we collect

Information you give us. Your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter. Your name, email address and account credentials when you create an account. Billing details when you buy a subscription, which are collected and processed by Stripe, not by us. Anything you send us by email or through a form on the site.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we collect standard analytics data: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and time on page. This is collected through Google Analytics 4.

We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

2. Why we use it

• To send the newsletter you subscribed to
• To create and maintain your account and give you access to what you bought
• To process payments, renewals and refunds
• To send service messages about your subscription, such as receipts, renewal notices and access changes
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
• To respond to you when you contact us
• To meet our legal and tax obligations

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the business. They process personal information on our behalf and only for the purposes we set:

• Stripe for payments and subscription billing
• Google Analytics for website analytics
• Mailchimp for sending the newsletter
• Kinsta for website hosting
• Cloudflare for content delivery and security
• Postmark for transactional and account emails

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.

We do not currently sell your personal information for money. We do not currently run advertising on the site or share your information with advertisers or data brokers. Our commercial arrangements change as the business changes; if this changes we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, give you the choice before it takes effect.

4. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Some state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, define sharing broadly enough to include the analytics data described above, even when no money changes hands and no advertising is involved.

We do not currently sell your personal information. If you want to stop the analytics collection described in section 1, you can do any of the following:

• Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser private browsing mode
• Turn on Global Privacy Control in a browser or extension that supports it
• Email info@dryatlas.com with the subject Do Not Sell or Share and we will action your request

Exercising this right does not affect your newsletter subscription or your access to anything you have paid for.

5. Your other rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct it, have it deleted, and not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email info@dryatlas.com from the address associated with your account or subscription. We will respond within the time your law requires, and in any case as quickly as we can. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any issue. That link works immediately and needs no request to us.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. What they are and what they do is set out in our Cookie Policy.

7. How long we keep it

Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake.

Account and subscription records: for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and legal purposes.

Analytics data: according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.

8. Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Payment card details never touch our servers; Stripe handles them. We limit access to personal information to the two founders and to contractors who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International visitors

We are based in the United States and our service providers process data in the United States and elsewhere. If you are outside the United States, using the site means your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be notified to subscribers by email.
